Cursed by Evangeline Anderson
Commander Stavros Rii of the Kindred is a Sin Eater - thick black lines cover his back and neck causing him to feel the pain of others. It is a curse that threatens to shorten his life and makes him unable to bond with a female - not that he's ever found one he wants to bond with.
Until he meets Charlie...
Charlie Sayers is an agent with the Earth Protection Bureau - and anti Kindred agency dedicated to ridding the world of the big aliens. Charlie joined the EPB out of a sense of patriotism but she has her own reasons to hate the Kindred.
But she has bigger problems than the Kindred at the moment - the Enhanced Ones have come to Earth and they're planning to take over the planet, enslave the inhabitants and strip them of all emotion. Charlie can't have that so she agrees to go undercover with Stavros to find the Heart of Love - an artifact which can destroy their mutual enemy forever.
On their dangerous and difficult mission, Charlie learns that going undercover with your worst enemy can rapidly turn him into your best friend... or your lover. Can she hold on to her beliefs and stay true to herself, or will she lose her heart to Stavros? And even if she gives in to desire, will Stav be able to bond her to him?
Or are they Cursed to be apart forever?

We met Stavros in Tess and Garron's book and if you're like me you've wanted to know about him ever since.
He is cursed and with it knows he will never take a bride.
She has reasons to hate the Kindred, but when her capture of the big warrior goes awry she is forced into close quarters with him. And when Earth is threatened what's the old saying "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"? Well that's what she figures anyways.
Charlie is self assured and stubborn and when she goes for something she's all in.
Stavros is big and strong, but when it comes to those around him he keeps to himself because that's how he grew up. Charlie helps him see that being cursed isn't so bad as he always thought. Can he show her that being Kindred isn't so bad either?
Ur has been a thorn in our side throughout the last few books and everything with him comes to a head in this one. We see more of Two now that he has taken in Ur's spirit and although their totally evil it was interesting to see their POV's from time to time.
Enslaved by Evangeline Anderson

For those of you who have read this series up to now and are wondering where these characters fit in, while we haven't met them in other books we learned of the Havoc in the last book and of course we all know of the planet these two end up on Yavon Six!
Thrace was captured and put on the auction block against his will and no matter who buys him he is determined to kill them to regain his freedom. But he never expected his buyer to save his life.
Trin is the captain of her ship and she is forced to deal with the women of Yavon Six who see men as an accessory and to not have one kising at your feet means you are not worth dealing with, so she came up with the idea to but a temperary slave. What she ended up with was a man who bankrupted her and won't do what she needs at all.
These two have very different upbringings, but must decide if working together is worth accepting something different from what they grew up knowing. But learning to accept each other comes with no learning curve and if they don't do things right the first time the comsequence could be death.
They are both stubborn and unmoving in some things but the ability to adapt is something that they know can save themselves and their livelihoods.
Back to how the meshes with the storyline of the previous 13 books we see more of the characters here and there and we see what has become of our latest crazy bad guy Two.
