Ghost Hand by Ripley Patton

Ghost Hand (The PSS Chronicles, #1)

Book Blurb:

Seventeen-year-old Olivia Black has a rare birth defect known as Psyche
Sans Soma, or PSS. Instead of a right hand made of flesh and blood, she was
born with a hand made of ethereal energy.

How does Olivia handle being the girl with the ghost hand? Well, she's a
little bit morbid and a whole lot snarky.

Her mother thinks her obsession with death, black clothing, and the local
cemetery is a bid for attention. But when Marcus, the new guy in Olivia's
calculus class, stares at her like she's a freak, Olivia doesn't like it.
And when her hand goes rogue, doing things she never imagined possible,
Olivia finds herself running for her life with Marcus from a group of men
bent on taking the power of her hand for their own nefarious purposes.

*Ghost Hand was selected as a semi-finalist for The Kindle Book
Review 2013 Best Indie Book Award in the YA category and was a 2103 Cybil Award nominee*

4.5 Stars

PSS a condition in which someone has a ghost limb. It's rare and as one of the few who have it Olivia has always knows she was different, keeping most people at bay with an FU attitude and a morbid since of humor. When a new student comes in, she sees how he acts differently towards her and then everything around her goes crazy. With people coming for her left and right she has to decide who to trust, and on top of that her hand has started to do some very strange things that are getting her into even more trouble.

Olivia is different and she knows it but that doesn't mean she lets it define her. She's smart and likes to get things done by herself. There aren't many people she trusts, but those that she does she protects with a passion.

Marcus. When she meets him Liv isn't sure what to think about him, but you can see he cares about others by the way he acts. He's a bit dark and mysterious, and that makes him all the more interesting.

This story is different creating a new concept that keeps you guessing from one minute to the next. I enjoyed going along on the ride with Olivia and am excited to read more of this series and see where it all leads next!
