Skylar just wants to have fun visiting her cousin for a few weeks before going off to colleges, but being pulled over by a cop as she gets into town is just the tip of the crazy train of things to happen to her this summer. She quickly becomes pulled into a world she didn't know existed, because all sorts of monsters are after her. Luckily the hottie cop, who wasn't really a cop, knows just what to do to protect her. Can they figure out why everyone is after her, and on top of the constant fear for her life is her developing feelings for Mason, a guy who seems to have an on/off switch when it comes to showing Skylar his feelings.
Skylar is strong and sure of herself when she sees something crazy she is determined to figure out what is going on and won't let anyone tell her what her can and can't know. She also knows when to ask for and accept help.
She's also young and inexperienced when is comes to dating. So through her you get to see her navigate through her feelings and watch as she grows. She's not about to give up her virtue just because someone is showing her attention, and is steadfast about ensuring she's with someone who really wants to be with her.
This story brings myth to life in an exciting new way and it keeps you on your toes wondering just what will happen next. I'm excited to see more of Skylar and the world she is a part of!
