The Terrorian threat of war continues to cast a shadow over the realms within the Library of Illumination system despite the success of 18-year-old Johanna Charette and 17-year-old Jackson Roth at stopping an earlier invasion. Now, a time machine is missing—its errant use creating ripples in the space-time continuum. And if that’s not bad enough, someone, or something, is trying to steal a mystical book of spells and potions left behind by a powerful medieval sorcerer. It’s a formula that could spell disaster for people on thirteen different realms and change their lives forever.

More adventure awaits Johanna and Jackson in this one. They see more consequences from their accidental travel through the portals while also seeing more of the realms and taking on new responsibilities with their jobs at the library.
Nero 51 is more bent than ever to overtake all the libraries and ensure his total domination going so far as stealing Mals beloved time machine, creating rifts and just in general causing havoc.
We see more of the different realms and how they are run and how their libraries play a part in their societies as well as some more of characters that we have come to enjoy in the previous books in the series.
Overall I very much enjoy the theme and concept of these books and look forward to seeing more of them!
