First Class to New York
Synopsis
A year after losing her husband, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life to cancer, Janie Anderson embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to New York City. Trying to escape the oppressive loss and hopelessness of a life without him, Janie sets off on the adventure she has dreamed about since she was a little girl. Exploring the Big Apple, New York City, she secretly hopes that this landmark event will free her from her grief and unlock a future as wonderful as the life she had lost with Robert’s passing. After a series of embarrassing encounters with a man in a dark grey suit during the flight, Janie wonders if this trip might be more than she bargained for. At 42, she is much too young to spend the rest of her days as a lonely widow, but is resolved to the fact that, like lightning, a love like that of her first marriage rarely strikes twice. When she accepts his invitation to dinner that evening, Janie is terrified at the realization that she’s actually attracted to him. The handsome and wealthy Matt Lathem is sexy as hell, but, as Janie comes to realize, has baggage of his own. Can they help to heal each other in time to realize that a second chance at love is within their grasp? ‘First Class to New York’ is a contemporary, adult romance novel, written by AJ Harmon. It is the first book in the ‘First Class’ series, with Janie’s story concluding in ‘First Class to Portland’.
Our 4.5 Star Review
A year after the death of her husband Janie decides to go on the once in a lifetime trip to New York she's always wanted to go on. In the airport in Oregon she run literally into the most handsome man she has ever seen, it's a type of attraction she has never felt and when just a little while later he runs into her and drenches her in water the attraction deepens. With fate on their side they are seated in first class next to each other and when he offers to have his driver take her to her hotel as an apology for the water incident she decides to live a little and agrees. Just when their time seems to be close to an end he surprises by asking her out. Now with two weeks ahead of her and a man she can't get out of her head it looks like moving forward with her life is gonna happen in a different way than what she expected. But what happens when the two weeks are over and Janie has to go back home 3000 miles away from Matt?
Janie is 42 and knows she is still young enough to find another man to spend the rest of her life with, or course she wasn't intending to meet a man who lives on the other side of the country. But she's is open to the possibilities in life and I loved her ability to open herself up to love again. And seeing her do what she wants and enjoy a trip she's always wanted to go on no matter how touristy some of the places she wanted to visit might have been was great to see. I enjoy reading about a person who does what they want no matter what anyone else thinks.
Matt is such a sweetie, jilted in the past by his ex-wives he has some issues of his own, but I had fun watching him grow and be happy throughout the story. And then there's his family!! Talk about a hoot and a half Ill definitely enjoy see more of them in this series.
The story of Matt and Janie is not finished in this novel you need to read First Class to Oregon to see their HEA.

Our 4.5 Star Review
Janie left New York heart broken and now has to accept she will never have Matt. Matt thought he could let her go, but after hearing why Janie left the way she did from her best friend Kate he has to decide if he will go after her. With their whirl wind romance can these to have a forever or will two weeks be all they ever had? Of course the answer is no and this ones shows their story to it's finish as well as setting up the next couple for the third book in the series.
I loved seeing Matt fight for what he wanted after finally realizing it and watching him woo the woman of his dreams. Seeing Janie happy and moving forward in her life you can feel how content she is with her life. And then there's the horrible part of the story where tragedy strikes and you see another Lathem brother step up and you catch a glimpse of how his story will start for the next book.
Had a blast seeing their happily ever after come to life and the way the story is written it's like you're there with the characters and invested in their lives. Can't wait to read more about this first class family so I'm off to start now!!.
First Class Justice
Synopsis
Katy, a head-turning gorgeous ER nurse, has spent her life watching her best friend live the romantic fairytale not once, but twice. She’s had to fight and scrape for every ounce of happiness she has ever had, and must battle once again for her life and her dreams. She wasn’t sure she’d ever been truly happy. Did she even deserve love or happiness? She doubted it. Would it ever be her turn to fall in love? She didn’t think so. Katy had always enjoyed the fact that men found her physically attractive, but it always seemed to be the wrong men. “Does my Mr. Right even exist?” she’d wondered. Just a week before her best friend Janie married her Mr. Right, Katy had everything taken from her, enduring what no woman should ever have to. Lured, kidnapped, and violated, her life and sense of well being was destroyed in an instant. Mark had rescued Katy from her captor, but could he now rescue her from the lurid memories that disturbed her every thought? He knew one thing, Katy deserved justice, and he would stand by her side until the criminal was rotting in prison… or hell. He would not let her face this tragedy alone. Unwilling to spend the rest of her life as a victim, Katy fights the demons left to haunt her by the predator and searches for a way to reclaim even a sliver of hope and happiness. ‘First Class Justice’ is the third book in the First Class Novel series by AJ Harmon, preceded by ‘First Class to New York’ and ‘First Class to Portland.’ 'First Class Voyage' will be available in March, 2013.
Our 4 Star Review
Katy went through 30 hours of hell and now has to go on living life. Mark was there when they found her and the connection he feels is beyond anything he's ever felt for a woman. Seeing his brother so happy he begins to wonder if he could ever have that too, but the only woman he's interested in having it with is the one he can't have. Katy doesn't think she will ever be able to trust a man again, as Mark keeps coming to town and spending more and more time with her he realizes her feeling for Mark are growing. The problem is how do you be with someone who's seen you at your worst?
This story shows Katy and Marks going back and forth not sure of how the other feels and it leads to some awkward and some very funny interactions. You see as they try to figure out the balance between friends and something more, but it's Matt as the new relationship expert who has to five them the final push is a very funny way.
Katy's strength after what she went through gives you hope that others can come out of dark times too. You see her journey and her struggles as she learns how to move forward after what happened to her. This book does gloss over a difficult subject so I would say reader beware, but it is done very well. These books make you feel as though you are a part of their world and it's great to see more of it.

Our 4 Star Review
Time for a vacation with the Lathem family, as a celebration of the matriarch's of the family Peter and Maureen, well mostly Maureen, decide they want a vacation with everyone. All 7 sons, 2 spouses, 1 fiance , 5 grand kids, and Janie's mother. All in all it's one crazy good time, and sometimes it's just plain crazy. Maureen is trying to get Mark and Katy to finally set a date after a 3 year engagement, Matt and Janie are enjoying their time together and with their little ones. Andrew and his husband Rory are trying to adopt, Paul is trying to make decisions about his future. And everyone else all combined, it's tons of fun this one isn't about one specific couple, but is an overview of the entire Lathen clan and their significant others. With 2 surprise weddings and a surprise baby you get to see more of the family we've been getting to know in the first few books and see more of everyone.
Great read I loved seeing the entire family and their dynamic and even the strongest men crumbling in front of their fiery mother Maureen. This is a fun story to see the couples you already know and the ones you wanted to know more about. And you get a glimpse of the ones the other books in the series will be about.

Our 4 Star Review
Paul left the cruise trying to decide if his time in the military was done and surprisingly it a woman who blew him off on the trip that's making him consider a future, with her! Nic didn't mean to be rude to the Navy guy, but she'd grown up with her mother saying they were the worst kind of man. Now she's make home in Virginia at her crappy waitress job wasting her degree when he call her out of the blue, can she really turn down a man who went through so much trouble? But right as they begin to get to know each other he's recalled to active duty and it's through email that they get their chance to learn about the other. While he's gone Nic is finally getting some interviews to teach again, but if she gets them it'll mean a big move, sometimes though fate has a way of figuring things out for you and when Paul comes back all the pieces come together. But with the baggage of her childhood will she ever be able to really let Paul in?
I loved seeing Paul's story, his struggles and decisions many military personal have and seeing how he decides what's right for him. He's done allot for his country and now he has to decide what he's gonna do next. Nicole was closed off at first, but seeing her blossom and come to truly enjoy her life was quite the journey to follow. Loved seeing these two and how things came together for them.

First Class Menu is the sixth book in the ‘First Class’ contemporary romance series.
Our 4 Star Review
David is the typical middle brother, when we met him in previous books he was always doing some fly by your seat get rich quick scheme, but now we get to see what he's made of himself as an art curator. He's always had to be cautious of women because with the Lathem last name all they were interested in was money. Money he didn't have, so he just shut himself off from the possibility of love.
Lindsey has everything going for her career wise, with a great job as an executive chef. But she's missing something in her personal life and when she meets David she thinks she's finally met "the one", but getting him to see it may be more than she realizes.
Lindsey is your take life by the horns kinda girl, she sees what she wants and goes for it, her downfall though is seeing things sometimes that are not always there. David is cute and funny but completely clueless. And I mean no holds bard right in front of his face but he still doesn't see it kinda clueless. Because of his past experiences he's closed off, it's takes brothers, sister-in-laws, friends, and YES even his Momma to make him see what's right in front of him, but by the time he does will it be too late?

Our 4.5 Star Review
Ben is the last Lathen standing and he's "happy and content" as a bachelor, between work and more work he's happy with his life. 5 years ago he met a woman in Rio with a little boy and he's been pen-pals ever since, and now across the street he's met a 12 year old who a fan of baseball. He's enjoys spending time writing the now 10 year old boy in Rio and now hanging out with Alex. With Maria the woman from Rio transferring to New York and Sophia occupying his thoughts he's needs to decide what will really make him happy and content. And with meddling mothers in the mix you never know what's going to happen.
Loved seeing Ben's "fall from grace" and figure out that there's more to life than just work and that he could find someone who made him happy. Loved seeing the kids in this one and all the interactions brought more depth to the story.

Each story is different and unique in it's own way and there's something in it for every avid reader like me.
