Mei-Li dreams with the mysterious warrior have exhausted her, and while she should be scared of him she isn't, at least not in the way others expect her to be. When Commander Sylvan told her Six would not be coming to claim her she was relived, up until the point where he just showed up for her.

Six does not want to claim a female, in fact he doesn't even know what to do with one. Being ordered by the collective though has him changing his plans even if he doesn't understand why they care if he claims Mei-Li. One month on his planet with her and then things can return to normal. How much could change in one month?

Mei-Li might be a tiny little thing, but she's fierce and doesn't let her size dictate what she can and can't do. She's strong and caring about those around her and her empithay helps her with her job, so she can help others the best she can. She's sweet until you get on her wrong side then you get a warrior, even if it is in a pint sized package.

Six is a protector even if he has no emotions. He has a strong since of right and wrong and will do what is necessary to protect those in his care. He's new to the world of emotions or new to them since they were dampened when he was 14. He might not understand whats going on with him, but you see his willingness to accept new things and try something new, even if it makes him uncomfortable.

The story is about them and their discovery of each other, but it also continues the story line of the kindred series. Showing you more of the troubles the Kindred are coming to face and how the new couple is a part of the action and how their situation effects whats going on around them. We see more of Ur and his plans from within his current body and how he plans on screwing things up even more for the Kindred and the people on Earth.

A great continuation of this series with this world growing bigger and bigger with every book, making you fall deeper into this world with each new addition.
