Welcome to Las Vegas, home of the Sin City Collectors. The job description is easy: Bring the offending supernatural in to the Boss and don’t ask any questions.
Feline shifter Claudette Marchon traded life as a showgirl to become a Sin City Collector, giving up the glamour to earn some serious cash in order to buy her own business. Mission accomplished, she now runs a pawn shop specializing in gems and jewelry.
Life is good until a Collection job requiring her specific skill set lures her back in. The Queen of Hearts, a museum-worthy ruby and diamond necklace has been stolen from the Boss’s private collection and she’s his last hope to do what two other Collectors have already failed to do. Bring in the necklace. And the thief.
But gargoyle Jason Tennant isn’t quite the dangerous criminal Claudette expects. In fact, he’s not a thief at all. He’s former Special Ops and being set up by the real mastermind, forcing her to decide between the man she’s falling for and the man she works for. Proving Jason innocent may risk the Boss’s wrath, but Claudette’s heart says it’s a gamble worth taking.

For Claudette life is good these days, the pawn shop she worked so hard for is running great. Until she's pulled back into the world she had wanted to stay away from for good and a job she had hoped she was done with. But when the Boss asks you to work a collection you don't say no. She goes in expecting to find out where Jason put the necklace he stole and bring him in, but as soon as she meets him she realizes all is not as it seems and Jason isn't quite the evil thief she thought he'd be.
Jason is tired. Of working for his boss, of doing things he doesn't want to, of his life in general. But Salone has the one thing that forces him to keep working for him. When she walking in though as the new magic act assistant things quickly change and he finds himself feeling alive for the first time. She smart and funny and he knows life will never be the same, especially once he finds out who she really is.
Claude is sassy and a smart ass, she's funny more capable than people give her credit for. She's also one to follow her instincts, even if they might get her into trouble every once in awhile.
Jason is a good guy who got screwed. When he meets Claudette he follows his heart and trusts her even when it's risky.
They each have secrets, but if they allows themselves to trust things could end up better than either ever hoped for.
Great read. I enjoyed the story and the paranormal aspect was interesting and well done!
