4 Stars

Kristen has always known she was different, normal women can't bench press 250 pounds (unless they are major mussel heads) and they can't see and hear the things she can. Shes always felt something was missing, but it isn't until a brutal murder happens in her small town that she finally finds the answers shes always sought. And there is not one but two men ready to help her figure it all out.

First it's Her voice, then when he turns he sees Her, his long dead mate come back from the grave. It's her but she's also a bit different and Julian is determined to keep her safe this time around.

When he realizes what has happened Alexander knows he is getting a second chance at his love, this time he won't let her get away without making sure she knows how he feels and what he wants.

Kristen is a strong female lead which is something I definitely like she can do things on her own, but also knows when she needs help. She has good instincts and lets them guide her and when she wants something she doesn't let anything get in her way.

Julian is cocky and a bit too sure of himself at times, but he would do anything to protect those he cares about. Hes had so much guilt for so long for how he mated Calista to how he lost her that he will do anything to see everything turn out different this time.

Alexander was burned by circumstance, but he has learned from his mistake. When it comes to Kristen he tells her the truth no matter how difficult it might be for her to hear. He is also sweet and caring and would do anything to see his love happy, even standing aside if she picks another man.

We enter a world where vampires and half-breads exist and see how most of them work to hide amongst humans in order to just live their lives. And those that cause trouble are dealt with by vampire enforcers. We learns most things as Kristen does and while we see several POV's it's hers you connect with most and her journey into figuring things out that you go along with.

The story is interesting keeping you on your toes and I'm definitely interested to see where the story heads next!
