Blue Moon by Pat Spence

Blue Moon (The Blue Crystal Trilogy #1)

“Forget vampires,” he laughed dismissively.

“Who wants to drink blood for eternity? What we have discovered is far more seductive and a great deal more dangerous…”

When 17-year old Emily Morgan meets beautiful but strange Theo de Lucis, there is an immediate attraction between them. But what is his secret? What ancient link ties him to Emily? And what is the significance of the Blue Moon Ball?

As Emily is drawn irrevocably into the glamorous and mysterious world of the de Lucis family, so she is forced to change every perception she has ever had about life, love, aging and death. The truth is terrifying and the consequences unthinkable…

A supernatural horror story, based on society’s obsession with aging and the desire for eternal youth, Blue Moon is the first book in the ‘Blue Crystal’ trilogy…

“For all ‘Twilight’ fans who want a change from vampires, this is the book for you.”

4.5 Stars

Emily is happy going through life at 17 years old she's at school just trying to get through her classes when did the De Lucis family moves in to the beautiful albeit delegated Manor in town she realizes right away there's just something about them and 19 year old Theo and she know she can't stay away. The attraction to him is intense and immediate but for some unknown reason he tries to stay away but the further he pushes her away the more she realizes the attraction between them is mutual and she knows that she can't live without him. she might be in but she knows that something else is going on she's determined to get to the bottom of it especially if that means being with Theo forever.

there might not be vampires in the story but the mystical element pulls you in and pulls you in and makes you want to find out what's going on right there with Emily. I love the storyline and how even though the attraction between them is so intense so fast she realizes that it's not completely normal but also knows that there's nothing she can do about it. You also get to see the story from prospective of other people and what else is really going on inside a small town they live in seeing it from all sides you get a bigger picture of what's going on without really understanding it until the very end. I love every aspect of the story and how ideas that aren't very common are mixed in with what you generally see out there creating something completely different.

Great start to a new trilogy and I cannot wait to see where it goes seeing Emily growing up so fast but also learning what she really wants in life. Very excited for the next book in the series!
