Savannah Young
Romance novelist Savannah Young grew up in rural northwest New Jersey in a place very similar to the fictional Old Town, which is featured in her books. When she's not at her computer creating spicy stories, Savannah is traveling to exotic locales or spending time with her husband and their bloodhounds.

Tucker bears the scars of his time in the service both physically and emotionally. He's a man of few words but you can see he cares about others. When Gracie comes into the bar terrified of Dex, her not boyfriend but keeper, he's feels his world turning and knows he's has to do whatever it takes to protect her.
Gracie has had a crap life being forced to be taken by Dex as payment for her fathers debts, and a mother who has been in prison and basically out of her life for years too. She is desperate to be free, but can't escape, until Tucker saves her.
Their both broken in different ways, but together they become whole. Seeing them both open up you see just how right they are for each other.
I read this as a standalone and it works well that way.
