BLURB

Tracy had moved to Provincetown with Christy and Heather to start a new life for herself. She lived in a new town, away from all of the nightmares of her past, or so she thought. She painfully realized that running away from her past would not free her from it. Because of her nightmares and fears and a strong suggestion from her therapist, she had to return home to Moneta, Virginia.
Once home, and with the help of Brad Washburn, she had to deal with more than her fears. She had to face and deal with her feelings for Brad, the man who had saved her life two years ago. Having become close friends, both Tracy and Brad had begun to have deep feelings for one another, but never revealed them. With her staying with him under his roof for the two weeks she was home, all of that changed.
Passion rose and love flew as their time together became hotter than a furnace. Can Tracy fight her fears and demons and handle her feelings for the man who saved her from death? Can she deal with the consequences of their lust and love? Will Brad be there for her until the end or will he be like her insecurities want her to believe? Will there be more dark moments or will
there be silver linings?

EXCERPT

Before leaving the room, he put on a pair of shorts and a T-shirt, remembering that Tracy was probably home. She was very quiet, though, and he wondered what she was doing. He had forgotten that she would be cooking dinner until he opened the door and the aromas from the kitchen wafted through the hallway, filling his nostrils. He was grateful for what he smelled and smiled as he walked toward the kitchen. As he turned the corner to go into the kitchen, he was going to say something but stopped dead in his tracks. What he saw in front of him made his heart skip a beat.

Tracy had her back to him, so she didn’t know that he was standing there and watching her, but damn did she look amazing. She stood in front of the oven stirring something, softly swaying her hips to the soft music that she had playing on a small radio on the counter. She was wearing a short purple dress that not only went barely past her butt cheeks, but it clung to her figure as if she’d had someone spray paint it on her. Her hair was hanging down loosely down her back, and she was wearing lavender heels.

Brad leaned against the door frame, admiring everything that he felt he was being blessed to see, but he had to keep himself in check. First and foremost he had to be respectful, and secondly, he didn’t need another episode like he had in the shower. After watching her slowly move around for a couple minutes without noticing him, he decided to make his presence known by complimenting her on how great everything smelled.

“Oh my goodness, it smells wonderful in here!”

Tracy turned and smiled at him, and he could tell that even though she didn’t need it, she had even put on makeup for him.perfume over the aroma of the sauce, but it stirred something inside of him that made him want her even more than he already did. Thankfully, the sound of the microwave beeping broke the spell she had on him, and he was able to look away.

“I hope you don’t mind me saying, but you look amazing tonight,” he told her as he sipped his coffee. “I actually feel underdressed for this occasion.”

She smiled back at him and said, “Thank you, and you look great just how you are. I just felt like dressing up a little, is all. You don’t mind, do you?”

Brad chuckled and commented, “No, I certainly don’t mind at all.”

“Dinner will be ready in about an hour. I still have to make the garlic bread and cook the pasta. Are you hungry?”

“I am, but I can wait. There’s no rush. Are you sure you don’t need some help?”

“I’m sure,” she said. “I like to cook.”

“Okay then, I’ll just sit here and admi—I mean, watch you,” he said, and he blushed when he caught his slip. He kicked himself mentally for such a mistake, not wanting her to think less of him in any way.

Tracy didn’t say anything, so he didn’t know if she caught that or not, but he couldn’t see her face, so he couldn’t read her reaction. What he wasn’t able to see was a huge smile on her face. She had caught what he almost said and his words made her feel incredible inside.
