BLURB
This is the night for the dead to rise from their graves and monsters to step out from the shadows of the dark corners of the world eager for the chance to seduce the living and satisfy their hunger. Stepping through a mysterious red door, Anna has entered a sexual halloween celebration hosted by the mysterious Victor, who sees in her the love he had lost more than two hundred years ago. Before this night is over Anna will discover a new level to her sexual awareness submitting to Victors desires and offering him that perfect little bite.
EXCERPT
“Champagne, madam?” A man’s voice floated down from behind her, but Anna was in no mood to deal with any lame come-ons.
Turning toward the voice, she took a step back, tripping a little over her hidden shoes, and looked up to find a man on a unicycle elegantly balancing a tray of champagne flutes. He had on a green brocade tux paired with a formal waistcoat and topped off with a black top hat. Smiling to herself she wondered if his glass of champagne would be labeled “Drink Me.” This whole party had turned into a dream, which was becoming more and more exquisite with every added fringe.
“Thank you.” A shaky hand retrieved a flute of champagne from the tray.
“Enjoy the party,” he said with a nod. It wasn’t until the man rode away on his unicycle that she realized it had been her own bold hand and that now held a chilled, empty champagne flute. The bubbles were rising in her head. Anna felt too good to curse her quick wrist for tipping the glass. She had needed that drink. Kicking her shoes back under her skirt, she set the empty flute on the bar holding onto its delicate stem.
“Can I take that miss?”
Anna nodded belatedly before looking up to see the bartender watching her intently for her next response. He was an attractive man with a large, soft build. It was clear that in his younger days he had been the perfect catch, but just like everyone else Anna knew –including her self- once the good times passed there was no hope in gaining them back, and sooner or later, all looks fade.
“Can I get you another?” he offered with a warm smile that made Anna flush. Fighting the urge to fidget, she gripped the bar with both hands and swallowed back the flutter that was pushing against the resistance of her corset.
“Well... I supposed I shouldn’t... I mean... I guess...” Her mind was clouded and Anna tried to search out the best answer, but could see nothing. She was blank of every thought other than the need to feel more of the soft bubbles that were still rising up from her knotted gut. Shaking her stumbling, tongue-tied speech off, she rolled her shoulders and looked up at the bartender with a bright smile.
“What would you suggest?” she finally found the courage to ask and was answered with a wicked smile.
Looking her over with a questioning eye, the bartender was torn between laughing and cutting her off. Anna knew her nerves had made her act like a feather brain, but it all felt out of her own hands. Everything in the party was spinning around her head and she knew it wasn’t only a result from the Champagne.
“I think a touch of the Green Fairy is just what you need.” A deep masculine voice lined with a sultry accent hummed over her shoulder, tickling her ear. His accent was undefinable by anything that she was familiar with, but it was sultry, masculine and dominant. She could feel every syllable licking over her body.
The bartender didn’t seem pleased by the man’s interruption and looked almost concerned, but something in Anna told her to stay put and not fight him. Some uncontrollable feeling was telling Anna she had no power to walk away. She was in conflict with herself, fighting against what she could only call a natural need to survive over a longing to share a drink with this handsome stranger. Reluctantly, the bartender retrieved a decorative bottle, two glasses, and other mixed drink props that clinked together.
“This will help you experience tonight with your eyes open,” the stranger promised.
