Moving on doesn’t always have to mean goodbye.
Widowed
makeup artist Jane Sullivan is more comfortable keeping her husband’s memory
alive than dating a pool full of sharks. Ella, her 4 year-old daughter, is her
whole world.
When
Jane meets Lucas Oliver, famous cover model, it’s hate at first sight. His
playboy persona rubs her the wrong way.
Accustomed
to every woman fawning over him, Lucas is drawn to the shy, uncompromising
single mom and completely melts at the sight of Ella. He is determined to
convince Jane that sometimes a second chance can mend a broken heart. —-

4 Stars
Living after her husbands death four years ago is all Jane has been doing. She's a writer, a makeup artist, and most importantly a mom. She had her love and isn't looking for another man to come into her life, until Lucas keeps appearing in it.
He's arrogant, cocky, and an all around ass, but he's also gorgeous and what everyone sees from the outside isn't all he is. Through a job Jane has in Paris she finds herself learning about he man behind the mask, and the more time they spend together the more she wonders just who Lucas really is.
When past and present collide will they find strength in each other or will their newly found friendship crumble?
It took a long time for me to like Lucas all his interactions throughout the first half of the book made me agree with Jane and roll my eyes. But seeing him with Ella there was another side to him I enjoyed watching come out and once he began to lose the facade I began to like him even more.
Jane has had her share of heartache and it's made her more careful. I loved seeing her lose some of her stiffness as the story continued and felt like I was there cheering her on as she began to really live her life instead of just go through the motions.
Good afternoon of reading this one, although I do with there had been an epilogue or something more there at the end.
Crystal Maria,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the kind review and for hosting my novel Me Tarzan--You Jane on your blog. Yeah, I agree with you; first part of the book I didn't like writing Lucas very much either. Then he showed me his real face, and who can resist a handsome man AND kind at the same time? Sending you lots of sun and smiles from Arizona!
