AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT L.G. PACE III & MICHELLE PACE

The Lost One (Sahae Book 1)
by L.G. Pace III

“So what are you saying? I’m going to become a monster? Or a god?”

Questions have always surrounded Eric Green. Orphaned as a baby, he’s spent his childhood in and out of foster care. Diagnosed with night terrors he's been rejected dozens of times and is resigned that he will never have a real family. Out of nowhere, he gets adopted by an elderly couple and feels on the verge of finally having everything he always wanted. Before he can relax into his new life, his world is turned upside down. Unexplainable abilities threaten his new found happiness while a mysterious man from his past reveals the truth about who he is.

Thrust into a shadowy war between humanity and an ancient magical race, the Sahae, Eric struggles to survive long enough to figure out where he fits into this new reality…if a place exists for him at all.

OUR REVIEW - 4.5 Stars

Eric has never really belonged anywhere. Every foster family he has been with always send him back because of his night terrors. Finally after giving up he suddenly finds himself with the Greens an older couple who accept him as he is. Just when he is finally settling in it all gets ripped away when someone from his unknown past comes and tells him the truth about who and what he really is.

Eric is a 15 year old boy who has made the best of a difficult situation. He is super smart in some ways and appears older than he really is and then you see him trying to talk to a girl and he's just a stumbling teenager. I loved the contrast between it all. Wise beyond his years he might have a bit of a temper but knows to keep it in check.

As he learns more about who he is he doesn't allow himself to get lost into that world, but remembers the things that are the more important. HE also sees things in ways others don't and it shows in his love of fixing things.

The world created is interesting and I loved immersing myself in it, feeling like I was really there right along with the characters. Learning as Eric did and feeling emotions when he felt them as well.

I read this one pretty much in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the sequel!

Good Wood (Carved Hearts Book 1)
by L.G. Pace III et al.

"It’s the sign of a true artisan when he can create beauty from what others consider trash. It takes heart to use a twisted bit of scrap and make something from it as if it were good wood.”

Somehow Joe survived the unlivable, and now he's just going through the motions. An endless string of one night stands does little to dull the ache from all he's lost. Even though he distracts himself daily with back-breaking work, his violent rage still simmers just under the surface.

Then along comes Molly, the feisty baby sister of his two best friends. Joe hasn’t seen her in years, and he's unprepared for his reaction to her when she falls out of the food truck and into his arms. Molly is still as mouthy as ever, and now she's as delicious as the food she's serving up. It's totally against "The Bro Code", but he just can't seem to keep his hands off of her.

Molly has come back home to Austin to mend fences and feed a whole new crowd. Dealing with Joe's demons doesn't figure into her business model. Something is very different about him and she craves the ‘Old Joe’ she used to have a crush on.

Still, the broody carpenter's swagger is damn near irresistible. And all work and no play makes Molly a cranky girl.

OUR REVIEW - 5 Stars

RAW.

The characters and this book are raw and real and you feel like their struggles are your own. Molly and Joe were both so well created that I felt that they were real people and as I heard each side of what was going on inside their heads and the story they were telling I felt like I was right there with them.

Molly has just come back to Austin she has started a food truck business and is just trying to get by mending the fences of the family that she messed things up with. She is happy to be independent and doesn't want another guy that will drag her down.

Joe has suffered some real loss and tragedy and he is coping with it with booze and backbreaking labor and a string of women he's not healing he's just barely surviving.

They both have painful pasts they'd rather not talk about, but the more time they spend together the less they can keep their secrets. Molly's first love was Joe, but being four years younger and his best friend's kid sister meant that back then nothing would ever have happened the more time they spend together right, Molly has to decide if what they have is really real or if it's just the fantasy she should have put to rest long ago.

I love the story, I love the characters, I love the heat of them, I love how well defined everything was from the minor characters to information and back story it was all extremely well written and I am now fully committed to learning more about Joe and Molly and their future!

Fury (The Sound Wave Series Book 1)
by Tammy Coons et al.

For years, Cheyenne Carson clawed her way up from her meager upbringing and strove to distance herself from the skeletons of her past. Finally success is within her grasp. A journalist for the music magazine, The Sound Wave, the assignment of a lifetime just landed in her lap. An all access pass to tour with the British rock band, Fury. Their latest album went triple platinum and they've never granted interviews. Once her assignment begins, Fury's tour explodes in a Molotov cocktail of sex, scandal, and violence that threatens to ruin Fury's quest for worldwide success. Can Cheyenne navigate her treacherous path unscathed, or will the demons of her past poison her blossoming career?

This is a second edition-edits have been made.

OUR REVIEW - 5 Stars

Cheyenne is determined to make it big in the music journalism business and following around Fury who is becoming a major sensation is just the beginning for her and she knows it. What she and her best friend Steph weren't expecting though were the sparks that fly between them and some of the band members and for Steph sometimes the sparks were a lot more electric than hot and steamy lol.

Cheyenne has her walls up but throughout the story you see how they get broken down.

Scot and his band mates aren't the typical crazy a holes most rockers are although they do have their quirks.

The stories and characters are so well written you feel like you're literally right there in the world with them as they're all trying to figure out what's going on between management that might be a little bit iffy and other people who are trying to get in between them you want to see the characters get their HEAs and you're rooting for them the whole time!
