Brides of Kindred Books 5-8 by Evangeline Anderson

Revealed (Brides of the Kindred, #5)

Book 5 in the Brides of the Kindred series

This book is a plus length novel--around 130,000 words long

Nadiah has the Sight—the ability to see into the future. But the one thing she can’t see is how she’s ever going to be free of the blood bond her parents forced her into when she was only six. Her fiancĂ©e is an evil bastard who delights in torturing her and her only way out of a loveless marriage is for a Kindred warrior to challenge the hated bond. But Nadiah has no warrior to challenge for her—she just has Rast.

Adam Rast doesn’t know why he feels so protective and possessive of Nadiah, only that he’s willing to kill or die to protect her. When the chance to set her free arises, he takes it without hesitation, even though his lack of Kindred blood could mean his defeat or even his death. But Rast has a secret, one even he doesn’t know he possesses. When he undertakes Nadiah’s quest, the truth comes out in a strange and provocative way.

Can Nadiah and Rast live through their ordeal? Will the truth about Rast set them free…or kill them? You’ll have to read Revealed to find out.

4.5 Stars

Nadiah has no choice but to go back home, the blood bond forced upon her as a child is just too strong. She had hoped to find a Kindred warrior who would be able to help her break free, who she found though was Detective Rast.

Rast might be human but he won't let anything happen to Nadiah even if it means going to some strange planet and going against her intended. He promised Sylvan he wouldn't "change the color of her eyes" , but the more he's with Nadiah the less he can ignore his true feelings.

Rast is a genuinely good guy who finds people no one else can and takes care of everyone around him without thought. Nadiah is just coming into her own but she's independent and has a spine of steel. The two bring each other a balance they never realized they needed and though their story has some pain it also has allot of happiness.

The AllFather is gone, but now we find out about even bigger threats in the universe. There's allot of craziness in this one and while we see more of the characters we've already met we also see new ones who we'll see more of in later books I'm sure.

Pursued (Brides of the Kindred, #6)

Elise is fractured inside, stained by a past she refuses to remember.

Merrick is scarred both inside and out, a half-breed with a brutal background, at home nowhere in the universe.

Now they are tied together by an unstable bond which could kill them both.

Their journey will take them to the lawless planet of Rageron—the wildest of all the Kindred worlds. There, in the deep blue jungles of an alien world, Elise must bare her soul and relive the horror that nearly killed her. Can she and Merrick make each other whole or will Elise run from her pain?

If she does, Merrick cannot help but chase her…Elise is being Pursued.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Elise survived the AllFather, but now her life on Earth is coming calling on her. Except she's not so sure that's what she wants anymore. Merrick has always been a loner being a hybrid no many want to be around him as it and he life certainly doesn't have the space or desire for a bride, not that there's a woman who would want someone like him anyways. But the two of them find peace in each other, until they realize it's because of an ill formed bond. Now they must set off to find a cure before the bond kills them. If the journey doesn't kill them first they might find happiness in the end, if they can open up to each other.

Elise has her share of emotional scars, she keeps them locked up in "the vault" in her head, she goes through life, but never really lives it. Merrick has scars on the inside too, but he has even more on the outside. He's a big scary looking guy, but he's really a sweet caring man who would do anything for those he's closest to, he knows keeping the pain in isn't good and does his best to help Elise even when he doesn't know exactly what to do.

Their story has allot of pain, but it shows that even those with a screwed up past can find their happiness as long as their willing to try.

We see more of the new threat and what it is he wants and how he came to be.

Exiled (Brides of the Kindred, #7)

Lissa is madly in love with Saber and it seems he returns her feelings but she has a problem. She and the man of her dreams both come from the same clan of the Touch Kindred. By the archaic laws of their people, they are too closely related to be bonded. Which means that even though there is no blood tie between them, they are doomed to remain apart.

But their personal dilemmas will soon be the least of their worries. Sacred scrolls, vital to the defense of the Kindred people, have been stolen and sold to a collector on the barbaric slave planet, Yonnie Six. To retrieve them, Lissa and Saber must go undercover as Mistress and slave on the savage world where domination, submission, and kinky sex are the order of the day. Will the love between them survive this trial by fire? Or will Lissa lose everything and be Exiled from the one person she loves above all others?

A timid priestess turned Mistress...

A proud warrior posing as her slave...

Will their love blossom on the savage world where domination, submission, and kinky sex are the order of the day?

Or will Lissa be Exiled from the one male she loves above all others?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

You're related to everyone in your village, maybe not by blood but you'll never be with someone from the same village as you to do so is just plain disgusting. But for Lissa there was never anyone besides Saber, 4 years older than her there was no way to stop from falling in love with the kind hearted man. But loving him was dangerous and wrong and when they were found out she was exiled to become a priestess on another planet.

Saber only ever loved one and when she was forced to leave there was no other he would ever take as his bride. Fate has brought them back together, in order to find missing scrolls that hold the key to saving the universe they have to go undercover.

She's a shy timid priestess, and somehow she has to make it look like the man she loves nothing more than a slave. They will both be forced out of their comfort zones, but if they can make everyone believe their ruse they may just save the universe. Doing so may cost them more than they ever expected or it bring them everything they ever wanted.

Lissa is sweet and caring and will do anything to help even something completely crazy like turning into a mistress. Saber is a strong Alpha male who will turn submissive if it's the only way he can be close the woman he loves. Their story is tragic at times, but in the end if they can overcome stigmas of their home planet they might just find happiness.

Shadowed (Brides of the Kindred, #8)

Nina is normal Florida girl with a job and a life and a grandmother she adores. But lately she’s been having disturbing dreams. Dreams of a man with a shadowed face—a man filled with pain and need and desire only she can slake. She fears him but at the same time, the dreams leave her breathless with need. Who is this dark stranger and what does he want of her?

Reddix is a Touch Kindred with an inverted Touch Sense—he can’t touch with his mind like others of his kind. Instead, he is doomed to endure their emotions like a physical invasion every time he’s around anyone. Desperation drives him to kidnap Nina—the girl he has been dreaming of. But he doesn’t take her out of love but as a sacrifice to one who claims she can cure his affliction.

Snatching Nina from her job, Reddix takes her on a journey to the stars that ends in disaster. Now, marooned on a strange planet they will have to learn to work together in order to survive. Can Nina forgive Reddix’s attack and gain his trust enough to heal him…or will his fate remain forever Shadowed?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nina is just trying to survive in her life and help her father, even if she is working herself to death. She's determined to become a physicians assistant, and has absolutely no time for love. If only the arousing dreams would just stop so she could get a good nights sleep she'd be all set.

Reddix will do anything to cure his disease, feeling the emotions of others is slowly killing him so when he makes a desperate journey to the swamp witch, her promise for a cure has him doing things he never expected he'd do. Including kidnapping. When their escape from Earth goes bad and they end up crashed on an unknown world, they will both have to do some crazy things in order to survive.

Nina is a survivor, whatever she has to do she does it. Her compassionate heart is a good thing most of the time, but when you start having feelings for your captor you know you're screwed. Reddix is selfish, he has a good reason for it but his illness has made him jaded. Feeling to emotions of everyone around you all the time you never have any of your own, until Nina and her uniqueness quiets everything in his head.

There are some great laugh out loud moments in this one. I seriously had tears of laughter! There were also time when I could feel the compassion of Nina and how amazing she was wanting to help someone even when she shouldn't. And then there were the times I wanted to kick Reddix's butt!!! He was definitely one of the most stubborn man I ever read about, but he had a good heart and in the end I loved him just like I've loved all the others in this series so far. This is a great series where every story builds off the last while still giving you something amazingly new and I can't wait to read even more of it.

Excerpt
Someone pressed himself against Michaela’s back, his hands twining around her stomach. She felt his lips on her neck, his breath in her ear. He said something, but Michaela couldn’t hear. Clark cocked an eyebrow at her and moved away slightly to dance with a petite girl in a fox costume. Michaela twisted in the man’s arms so that they were face to face. He was tall and lanky and definitely human. The pupils of his eyes were huge, dilated far beyond normal, and Michaela smelled the musky hint of drugs seeping from his mouth. His hands roamed over her body, groping her ass. There was no room to get away; the bodies in the middle of the floor were pressed so close together. For a moment, panic flooded through Michaela’s veins. Sure she could knock this guy out with one hit, but she didn’t want to bring attention to herself. She looked around, realizing that everyone was experiencing the same sort of free will she was. She had no clue how the human girls dealt with this sort of invasion. In her distraction, she didn’t realize the man in front of her was about to kiss her until the second before his lips smashed into hers. Immediately, his tongue pressed into her mouth, forcing her lips to part. His tangy salvia pooled at the back of her throat and gagged her. His hand slid up her side to fist around her breast. In that appalling moment, Michaela realized two things. The first being that Gabriel, who was very new to the whole sex thing, was very, very good at the sex thing. And the second being…Gabriel. He stood in all his tall, dark glory behind the man sucking on Michaela’s tongue. Lifting his hand as if he was going to tap on the man’s shoulder and ask to cut in, Gabriel pressed a finger onto on the man’s shoulder, making him instantly sag to the floor. Gabriel pressed harder into the pressure point on the guy’s neck until he was nearly on the floor and completely disengaged from Michaela. It was quiet and efficient. Gabriel righted the man and set him aside before he made too much of a scene. In the mass of pulsing bodies and underneath the flashing storm of rainbow lights, it was unnoticeable. The man moved away, slightly stunned and confused, but without a backwards glance. Michaela shrugged sheepishly at Gabriel’s blank stare. Only because she was looking at his mouth was she able to read his lips as he spoke. “Don’t kiss anyone else.”

4 STARS
Mia left Alabama 9 years ago when she was just starting high school, she missed her best friend, but being away from her evil older brother was a blessing. Now before visiting for the summer she has one thing she's determined to do before visiting Tessa, lose that peaky V card she's still carrying and boy does she fun the perfect guy to lose it too. Even if she didn't get his name she'll never forget the 5 BIG O's he gave her.

Ben can't get the angel who gave herself to him out of his head, but he can't find her if he doesn't even know her name. And then there she is sitting out by the pool with his sister. he wants her to do anything to have her but her memories of him from nine years ago just might ruin things before he ever gets a chance.

She can't believe her luck that the guy from last night was her best friend's a****** brother she's determined not to let him get to her, but he's determined to have her. it's a war of wills who will be stronger and who will give in? Can he show her that he really has changed or will she only ever see the guy who tormented her when she was young?

Mia is a strong female lead she cares for those closest to her and takes care of everyone except herself. Ben is an arrogant alpha male but he's got a good heart and when he sees something he wants he goes after it with everything he's got he's determined to prove that he's not the same guy who used to torment her as a child.

They push and pull each other and watching the dynamics between the two is as funny as it is frustrating sometimes. I love watching how they grew as a couple and I definitely love the little guy in the story. My only complaint is I wish there would have been more details about them as people the story revolves around their romance but it never really told you a lot about the details of their lives overall I liked the story I just wished for a little bit more.
