Expired Regrets by Megan C. Smith

On your dying breath, what regrets will you wish you could re-do?

Rose was your average girl just trying to get done with high school so she could escape her overbearing mother and move to Tallahassee. Then she met Bryant, a guy who moved to her barn and made her body sizzle in appreciation. Bryant was determined to avoid Rose, but as much as he pushed her away he pulled her closer too. Finally ready to be together their relationship is thrown an insurmountable obstacle sending Rose fleeing for Tallahassee and away from Bryant. Four years later Rose has to come home, and is dreading running in to Bryant again. Both of them are forced to face their regrets as they wish they could have done things differently, but is it too late for them to find love again?

Note: this is a new adult novel and contains sex and graphic language. This is not intended for young adult readers.

Our 3.5 Star Review

Rose is in her senior year of high school when she meets Bryant, a college senior, at the horse stables where she works her horse. The attraction between the two is intense, while their alone. Whe faced with telling his friends about her, Bryant acts like Rose is no one "just some high school girl". She's rightfully pissed and when Jordan pays attention to her and is not embrassed by her younger age their romance begins. She has exerything with him, safety, comfort, commitment, but for some reason she just can't get Bryant out of her mind. And when Bryant finally fights for her she knows she has to give it a shot otherwise she'll always wonder what-if. Their relationship is intense and when the unexpected happens they think they have it all figured out until the tragic happens. Four years later what happens when they encounter each other again?

The base story was ok, but the ending, well the last 20%, felt completly rushed. They sort of have their HEA, but questions you had didn't get answered which annoyed me a bit. There will be another addition to this series a companion novel by the looks of it for Jordan, but I doubt all the answers for Bryant and Rose that I had will be there.
