Destined for Dreams: Book One (Destined for Dreams #1) by Ginna Moran

Young Adult Paranormal
Date Published: 12/1/2014

Seventeen-year-old Nadia Petrov is an outcast in her tight-knit community of people with special abilities. Nadia must invade people’s dreams to survive. She sneaks into sleeping victims’ rooms, slips into their heads, and then turns their dreams into horrifying nightmares.
When a new girl arrives at her compound, Nadia can’t resist giving the girl a nightmare. In the dream world, Nadia discovers Hunter Sullivan, a soul trapped in the girl’s mind. Intrigued by Hunter, Nadia secretly builds a relationship with him in the dream world, and they find solace through each other.
Unable to accept a love fated for dreams, Nadia must risk losing the safety of her community to help Hunter get back to his body before he’s lost forever.

He steps closer and stares down at me. He tucks my hair behind my ear.    “Don’t feel bad, Nadia.”
I pucker my lips. It’s easier said than done. Jacqueline hasn’t done anything wrong to me and even if Hunter thinks she deserves the fate we’re forcing on her, I don’t. “This is why I’m a monster.”
His brows furrow. “You’re not though. You’re only coming here because of me. If I weren’t here, you’d never invade Jacqueline’s dreams.”
Tears blur my vision. “I hate this.”
He looks into my eyes for a few moments before leaning closer and kissing my cheek. “I don’t want you to feel this way. It was never my intention for you to feel guilty or hateful. I want you to be happy just like you were when we first met.”

I stand on my tiptoes and kiss him softly on the lips. “I don’t think I can.”

Nadia's life is anything but normal she is a sup with powers that can make even the strongest quake in fear. Her food is dreams, well nightmares and when a newcomer comes to the colony she just can't resist having a snack. What she wasn't expecting to find in the girls dreams was Hunter.

Hunter has been trapped in the mind of someone he wishes he'd never met, but if he hadn't he'd have never found out the truth about sups and how they're not all the monsters humans make them out to be. Especially Her, but a relationship built in the dream world can't possibly survive in the real one....Can it?

Nadia doesn't let the fear others have of her stop her from living her life, she might have been sheltered growing up but she's determined to live life to the fullest and not let anything hold her back. She is strong and fierce and know when to trust someone and when to look for answers.

Hunter is stuck in a bad situation, but he's determined to make the most of it when he finds truths he expected to find. He is a good person at heart and just because a road is difficult doesn't mean he'll turn away from it.

There is mystery and intrigue as the characters try to understand what's going on and figure things out. There's a bit of romance and plenty of suspicion as to how to trust and what if truth from lies. The paranormal aspect make it all the more interesting, but I didn't fell like the world was well enough explained to truly come alive. I would have loved to see more info about it what was there was interesting, I just wished for more. Overall an interesting read and I'll definitely be reading more of this series to see what happens next.
