4 Stars

Maggie has never stayed in one place for more than 3 months and now left in New Orleans by her Aunt to go to her final year of school in one place strange things start happening to her. Well, strange has always been a part of her life with her unique gift, but these days things are getting weirder for her. First a mysterious stranger keeps showing up claiming to save her life, and from there everything else she things she's always understood come into question. Now as she navigates the stares and whispers of her school mates, she finds it much harder to stay under the radar than expected especially when weird things keep happening to her.

Maggie is strong, a force to be reckoned with. She's independent and can take care of herself, most of the time. She's also stubborn and when pushed into a corner she pushes back. She also cares about others and wants to help even when she's been criticized all her life for being different.

The story is interesting moving along at a fast pace, keeping you on your toes as to whats going on and what will happen next. The paranormal element is intriguing, but at times I wished it was explained a bit more. There's allot going on in Maggie's world and while the flow worked well there are times I questioned her feelings and why for such a smart character overall she didn't ask more questions. Overall I very much enjoyed the book and am excited to read the rest of this series.
