Djinn 4 Stars
Her entire life Kyra and her father have been on the run she doesn't know exactly who from but she has seen them as they tried to take her, close to her 18th birthday and suddenly the past has caught up. When she finally finds out the reason for all the running her world will be tipped on its axis more than ever and she will have to find out what the truth is between what seems to be lies.
As Kyra discovers a world she could never have imagined she has to learn how to use her new powers she suddenly has and traverse the politics that seem to surround everything. Especially when it keeps her from the boy she want to be with.
Kyra is strong and sure of herself and a great female lead she is smart and uses her wit to figure things out that are going on around her knowing when to ask questions and when not to. Sure she has a bit of a temper but I enjoyed seeing it on occasion and all things considered she did deserve a bit of a blow up every now and then.
The story is interesting taking you into the world of the Djinn and their enemies. The characters are well created and have a good depth to them to where you feel like you actually know them and this magical world itself was also well explained so you could really see it within your mind's eye.

Warning review may contain SPOILERS if you have not read book one!
The attack has changed so much for Kyra, but for the first time she finally has true control over her powers except the occasional nightmare that has a tendency to destroy furniture but the attack on the Djimn has also shown just how many secrets are still being kept from her and she works to uncover them all especially the ones that her mother is keeping.
Her feelings for Will are stronger than ever but because of his duties and station she knows they can never be together no matter how hard she wants to fight he has to as well but won't and then comes the biggest shocker of all when it comes to her love life.
The story kicks into high gear as she scrambles to uncover everything that is being kept hidden, find ways of helping everyone who needs help, and forgiving herself for those that have died because of her. The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger I'm interested to see where the next book goes!
